Trilogy 217314

1980-2007 grey, star, blaze, snip, four stockings

Trilogy at 27 still evoked the immediate response "carousel horse!"--a storybook white Arabian with the stride and carriage Charles Craver must have had in mind when he described the Hanad horses' "affinity for English work." Trilogy is also a veteran of the Craver Farms stallion battery-- the central sire lineup in Davenport breeding--with excellent quality offspring to his credit from 1991 through 2007.

Sire: Youngest son of Prince Hal, "a mount for the Queen of Elfland," one of six Tripoli/Dharebah siblings and a major sire in his own right. Prince Hal's sons Said Abdallah, Adrian, Akmet Haffez (sire of Plantagenet), Mariner, Diomede and Perigee contribute his beauty to nearly every subset of Davenport breeding, assisted by such daughters as Maid Marian, Ionia, Connie Princess, Viola, Dixie Cup, Fairy Princess, Reminisce, Recherche and Adorned. Leaving aside the tremendous influence of his sire Hanad, Tripoli was the last foal of Poka and so half brother (or better) to such CMK foundation mares as Aatika, Ferka, Ahvaz, Shammar, Maya and Selah. Dharebah connects repeatedly to Old California CMK foundation lines; she herself produced the champion and dynastic matron Dharneyn; her sire Dhareb got Donald Jones' Farhan, dam of Faronek and a string of other influential offspring; her dam Antarah was half sister to Alla Amarward's dam--to stop the list arbitrarily.

Dam: Only remaining son of Trill, glamorous double Tripoli daughter whose "Schreyer" head has achieved the status of an internationally recognizable icon. Her other offspring include the successful dressage competitor Minstrel CF by Ibn Alamein, Kestrel CF and Thrill CF. Tripoli was the original sire in the Second Foundation of Davenport breeding and was one of those uncommon horses able to complement a range of mares and to make an important contribution through both sons and daughters--reminiscent of Hanad's record.

Second dam: Moth was herself another of Tripoli's most highly regarded daughters and simply an impressive Arabian mare by anyone's standards. Besides Trill her daughters included the familiar Davenport names Molly Brown, Major Barbara, Mimosa (dam of Mimic) and Adorned, three quarter sister to Trilogy. Moth had no sons so Trilogy is as close as this influence exists in a male.

Third dam: Maedae, foundation mare of the Mimmack family program, was one of four full siblings bred by Miss Margaret Shuey from Gamil by her son Ibn Hanad. Maedae has an extensively branched family in CMK and combined source Arabian breeding through her beautiful daughter Ramae, and another influential Al Khamsa line through two offspring of Fadaa by Ibn Fadl--aside from the straight Davenport significance of Moth, Maefah and Sir Marchen. Ibn Hanad, called "the most beautiful Arabian horse in America" by Raswan, lived to be only ten and got 29 foals (25 used for breeding, and giving him well over 350 grandget), including top show winners (performance and halter) and legendary breeding animals starting with his first son Tsali. Some of the influential (in the short or long term) programs where Ibn Hanad get contributed outside straight Davenport breeding include Al-Marah, Shalimar, Donoghue, Hillcrest, Cedardell, Steiner, Van Hoose, La Rue, Lasma, Lewisfield, Gleannloch, Sitting Rock, Bali Hai, Black Watch, Malabar Farms and Patterson.

Fourth dam: Gamil by Kasar was a stablemate of Ginnyya and Chepe Noyon at Santa Barbara in the Dwight Murphy holdings. Murphy's Arabians were selected for beauty to complement one of the foundation Palomino programs and played major roles in the development of Old California CMK. Gamil's Murphy-bred daughter Gamar figured prominently in the Reese cooperator breeder circle; her Second Foundation daughters Maedae and Antan themselves left significant offspring before they entered the Davenport context. Besides the five Kasar offspring behind straight Davenport breeding he figures widely in Old California pedigrees; Ansarlah, Kasila, Sarajih, Amrieh and Rummana are particularly familiar names.

Fifth dam: Schilan, one of the most highly regarded daughters of Antez with 16 foals and 83 grandchildren including the major Abu Farwa son Galan; she was full sister to Schantez, of remarkably widespread influence for a sire with just six registered offspring, and their dam was half sister to Farhan's dam.
