The tall dark and dramatic Najih was the star of the exciting 1985 Ben Rabba foal crop at New Albion, and has fulfilled the promise of his early form. Najih, a Class A Liberty winner, was started under saddle in impressive form but his performance career was forestalled by a sesamoid fracture suffered as a yearling. His offspring replaced him in training and are themselves individuals of scope, bone and riding proportions with a willing attitude, and consistently reflect Najih's remarkable breadth of forehead and beautiful eye. His son Tyl is a reserve champion in hunter pleasure with dressage wins at training and first level, and Benjih has been US and Regional Top Five in IAHA Competitive Trail, has his Legion of Honor and--not least--a Tevis win to his credit. Also competing successfully in endurance is Tyl's older sister Lailih. Najih is playing a central role in the development of our *Nasik linebreeding program.

SIRE: The late Ben Rabba really needs no comment, or else more than space permits. He was a Regional halter and US Top Ten performance champion, and his get have won through US, Canadian and British National Champion. Ongoing generations from his historical breeding lease to the Bowdell Stud in England continue to win admirers and show ring honors, and his British offspring were exported to the US, to breeders in Africa, Israel, Iraq and to the royal family of Saudi Arabia. Ben Rabba was the first purebred foal of the mighty Aurab, "the horse Crabbet set out to breed but never achieved," and has earned pride of place among that horse's distinguished offspring.

DAM: Narah bint Neziah, a stretchy, feminine, well-proportioned mare who carries herself beautifully under saddle, and has an outstanding mind. Her sire Neziah, 1977 US Top Ten Park Horse, three times Rocky Mountain high score park horse, Legion of Honor, winner at halter through reserve champion, made a worthy dressage debut at age 19 and filled in at age 25 for his great-grandson in our 4H quadrille. Neziah is a proven sire of elegance, freedom of shoulder, and particularly beautiful bone and joints. His own sire Galah was a successful halter and western show horse, represented by champions and respected breeding horses in turn. Neziah's foals reflect his incomparable dam Nalysa's exceptional action, quality and attitude. Narah bids fair to found her own dynasty of using and riding Arabians.

SECOND DAM: Our Kellogg mare Falowa, Class A English winner, retained nearly to the end of her 32 years notable style, balance and exceptionally good back and hindquarter. She was three-quarters sister to the multi-champion and sire Farlo and produced three good daughters and a successful endurance horse by Neziah; the respected sires Sir Raffon and Raffol by Raffon; a good riding and producing mare by The Real McCoy; and a lovely last daughter by Skowronek's Antez. Her sire for years was head sire at Cal Poly and remains one of the most respected breeding sons of the great Abu Farwa.

THIRD DAM: Coulyfa, halter and performance champion and producer, probably the last of the great original Kellogg mares at Cal Poly, had her best nick with Farlowa. Falowa's full sister Lolyfa produced Vask, a sire and Top Ten at halter; the champion and sire Dakotas Bask; and the dam of show horse and sire Tsulybration. Their full brother Lofar with limited opportunity in Utah got good stock including the handsome action champion Ibn Zulzula.

FOURTH DAM: Malyfa, out of just six foals gave two of the greatest show and breeding horses from the latter-day Kellogg program at Cal Poly in Coulyfa and Farlo. Malyfa's full brother Lutaf was a Remount sire, many times champion at halter (through age 19) and simply ohne of the most impressive Arabians of his day or any other. He became a sire of halter and performance champions and of solid performers in all areas, but particularly in action classes. His influence still is visible and notable.
