The New Albion Sires

Shown here:

Trilogy 217314

1980-2007 grey, star, blaze, snip, four stockings

Trilogy at 27 still evoked the immediate response "carousel horse!"--a storybook white Arabian with the stride and carriage Charles Craver must have had in mind when he described the Hanad horses' "affinity for English work." Trilogy is also a veteran of the Craver Farms stallion battery-- the central sire lineup in Davenport breeding--with excellent quality offspring to his credit from 1991 through 2007.

*Seffer 318071

1983 chestnut, 15 hh, blaze, three stockings, one sock, mark under body

*Seffer is a champion at halter and performance through the Regional level, a Most Classic winner, of straight Crabbet (Skowronek-Blunt) breeding from the internationally influential program of the Archers' Worth Arabian Stud. He was foaled at Park Corner, literally a corner of Crabbet Park. *Seffer is blending with the solid structure of the older CMK lines while enhancing action, elegance and carriage. His first New Albion foals arrived in 1991 and his offspring continue to exceed our expectations in their beauty and action, and their lightness and intelligence. We have heard from the breeders of three of his Northwest offspring and they are excelling according to their opportunities, under saddle and as breeding horses in their turn.

Cantador 273990

1983 chestnut, 15 hh, star, strip, snip, three socks

Cantador, notable for his dramatic style, self-carriage and action at the trot, was never unplaced in Class A Southern California dressage competition against all breeds. More recently he served as Lydia's first dressage lesson horse. His foals mark him as a sire -- the eldest has two 4H Spring Show hi-point awards and a solid endurance record -- and they reflect his action, carriage and Arabian character. He is the only Kimfa offspring out of an Aurab daughter, and with that plus his Lutaf influence we consider that he may prove one of his sire's most significant links with the CMK heritage.

Najih 337363

1985 brown, 15.3 hh, star, strip, snip, two socks
Sweepstakes nominated

Book closed

The tall dark and dramatic Najih was the star of the exciting 1985 Ben Rabba foal crop at New Albion, and has fulfilled the promise of his early form. Najih, a Class A Liberty winner, was started under saddle in impressive form but his performance career was forestalled by a sesamoid fracture suffered as a yearling. His offspring replaced him in training and are themselves individuals of scope, bone and riding proportions with a willing attitude, and consistently reflect Najih's remarkable breadth of forehead and beautiful eye. His son Tyl is a reserve champion in hunter pleasure with dressage wins at training and first level, and Benjih has been US and Regional Top Five in IAHA Competitive Trail, has his Legion of Honor and a Tevis win to his credit. Also competing successfully in endurance is Tyl's older sister Lailih. Najih is playing a central role in the development of our *Nasik linebreeding program.

Zadaran 393353

1987 bay, 14.2 hh, faint star and snip, hind socks

Zadaran is a regal horse reflecting the stamp of Davenport's *Haleb, "the pride of the desert." He combines scope, good bone and joints, smooth balanced riding conformation with exceptional strength of loin, and a light curved neck set beautifully on well sloped and defined shoulders. His conformation is notable for its harmony of flowing lines throughout. His head is refined and expressive with sharp ears and a small muzzle. Zadaran is a unique blend of the excellent *Nasik and Davenport sources in his very solid CMK pedigree, and he belongs to the increasingly uncommon preservation group of Stud Book V Arabians (all ancestors imported to the US before 1944 -- in his case, by 1930). He represents two generations and 15 years of planning from the time his sire and second dam were yearlings. His first foals are notably smooth, refined young horses which reflect their sire's best qualities, and the eldest is succeeding in PNER endurance rides with his junior rider.

Abu Zanzabar 437396

1989 chestnut, 15 hh, star, faint strip, snip, three stockings

Abu Zanzabar possesses scope, well-proportioned legs with good bone and joints, and smooth balanced riding conformation, featuring the desirable combination of long neck, short back, strong loin and long smooth hindquarter. He moves beautifully and, like both his parents, has a disposition that is all anyone has ever claimed for the breed. Zanzabar has been trail ridden and shown in sport horse classes, demonstrating "three good gaits" (scoring 8's for canter in open Training Level dressage) and remarkable facility for lateral work. In June he won both the Sport Horse Stallion in Hand and Sport Horse Under Saddle at the Pacific Coast Arabian Sport Horse Classic. He also loves to jump and was the youngest horse in the top ten for the Arabian Sport Horse Association's 1994 Senrab Cup standings (for Arabians in open sport horse competition). Zanzabar has young stock in California and Oregon consistently reflecting his own best physical and mental qualities.
